Congressman Albio Sires Endorses New Beginnings WNY!

 

Eight years ago many community leaders and I supported Felix Roque for Mayor, because we believed that he was the right leader for our community. We were wrong.

 

Roque has struggled through two terms filled with chaos, mismanagement and dysfunction. When he is in town he is working long hours at his business, and the truth is that he is very rarely in Town Hall. The Mayor’s Office is mostly empty and the needs of our people are being ignored.

 

While Roque has disappeared, three Town Commissioners who ran on his ticket have stepped up to do his job. Commissioners Gabe Rodriguez, Cosmo Cirillo and Margarita Guzman and their “New Beginnings Team” are doing the work that the Mayor should be doing.

 

Just last week, Commissioner Rodriguez, who took over the Public Safety Department from Roque last year, announced that 10 new police officers are being hired to “walk the beat” in our neighborhoods with a real community policing program. This is real progress, unlike the mayor’s empty promises and campaign nonsense, and it will be the highest number of police officers in our department ever.

 

West New York is a great town but we all know we can do better. The New Beginnings Team are the right people to lead us forward. Please join me in supporting Commissioners Rodriguez, Cirillo and Guzman and their running mates Victor Barrera and Yoleisy Yanez on Column A.
